Set Your Soul on Fire

Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transferred. While a huge scientific discovery, I also believe this to be true on a spiritual level. When your life is filled with negativity, there is no room for positivity. You’re shutting yourself out from all the good things to come. You’re stuck in this negative bubble, focusing on all the bad, forgetting about all the good. So what do you do when you’re stuck.

Being a believer in writing and a believer in the universe, I began writing all my negative down. It felt great, but I would reread all of it, still dwelling on it. I felt better, but still not 100%. That’s when I began burning these writings… letters I would never send, thoughts I never wanted anyone to see. I realized it was a way for me to release all my negative into the universe. I happen to see the magic in fire, and it both physically and metaphorically created a spark for me.

I began writing down some of my dreams and burning them as well. Maybe, if I sent them into the universe, they would come true. While I know hard work is needed, maybe the magic of the universe would help me as well.

Most recently, my life got turned upside down. All the plans I thought I had weren’t a reality anymore. I was devastated and had no idea what to do. I spent a few days in bed. I had no desire to do anything. I didn’t know where to start. So I started small. After a few days I started writing. Then I finally had the courage to burn what I wrote. And shortly after that, my life started to magically fall into place again. I stopped dwelling on my previous plan and started looking for a future plan. My dreams seem like they’re coming true. Maybe it’s not magic, maybe it’s not because I burned a piece of paper, but sometimes all you need is a little spark to set your soul on fire.
